First my definition of a doctor.
A doctor is someone that attempts to heal the physical body through scientific method. It is up to fate and other powers if the treatment works. Entropy in the sense complex things tend to break, and break-down, is what they fight.
Patients can go to a doctor with obvious injury of a broken bone, or bleeding.
Patients can go to a doctor with complaint of pain without visible signs of damage. The doctor must be like a police detective and deduce what is wrong.
People can go to a doctor and not have any physical injury, yet complain to the doctor of pain, this created psychiatry.
Initially the brain was thought to be damaged in some way , as a reason for not perceiving reality correctly.
This reasoning was correct for syphilis , Alzheimer , Parkinson, multiple sclerosis, Epilepsy, Mad Hatter syndrome, Plumbism
As humans have advanced scientifically, we now know the smallest properties of matter and know there is no physical cause to mental illness( if there is proof, then it is to be called neurological disease), yet the profession of psychiatry continues on to treat behaviours as if they are disease.
Gluttony/sloth/wrath otherwise know as sins, are natural animal instincts, biological in nature. All animals might do them.
(Sloth-gluttony as in a person being overweight would be enjoying too much food in comparison to the physical work someone does [physical work burns calories that is in food, if the calories going through digestion are not used, they probably will be stored as fat], it is good to enjoy food otherwise we could be depressed, but too much food is bad for our physical health.) “Fast” food consumed can act like a mind altering drug and cause an addictive like cycle, of feeling bad then >I need fast food etc-era, shown in the movie SUPERSIZE ME.
The natural tendency to be slothful or whatever has to be fought by the intellect. Humans are in a time of plenty and excess-success, why are patients not told they are fat/overweight? see M.D.O.D. “300 pounds”
Psychiatrists are not doctors but priests in my opinion, as they do not treat physical illness, but fight concepts in their patients minds. Concepts can be right or wrong, legal and illegal, but they are not diseases of the body.
END OF RANT.
For Doctors
If you have an out of control patient in an emergency or emergency room/department, I suggest Ativan.

good old vitamin A!
“Some facts and questions about ativan:
1) Why does it have to be so thick and goopy?
2) I have never had anyone allergic to ativan so it must come from heaven…
3) Never had an ativan overdose.
4) No one ever requests ativan like they do narcs…
5) You can mix ativan and haldol in the same syringe…what a wonderful thing..
6) A little dab’l do you….0.5 mg or so…
7) Doctors usually go along with your suggestion to give it.
8) ER patients are happier when they get it…
9) ER staff are happier when patients get it….lets face it the whole world is happier and a better place with ativan in it…
10) We never run out of it…”
Ativan stops anger and fear. With no anger or fear the patient may be able to be communicated with. If she/he still is unintelligible after the correct amount of time for it to penetrate the patients brain, I would say the person has not slept. Lack of sleep has made them delirious. People do not all of a sudden become unintelligible. That the person most probably had some kind of life before this emergency is highly likely. In this life they must have communicated successfully.
Note: Ativan will not work (predictably) in drug abusers or addicts, as they have other drugs in their bodies. Anecdotal evidence , Stephany reports Ativan made her mentally ill daughter “worse” in the Emergency. “As lorazepam can have paradoxical effects”.
Either way if both are given rest and sleep they then may become “sane”, communicative and reasonable.
