On the ship the Titanic

We are all on the ship the Titanic.

Do you enjoy the party?

Do you feel bad for the pollution you create? Maybe you shouldn’t feel bad! READ THIS 50-million-cars

Might as well smell the flowers?

Do you try to alert the Captain of the iceberg?

What if the Captain thinks you are crazy?

When I write we are all on the ship Titanic, I mean the human race on the planet earth.

# According to the American Journal of Public Health, the average American woman has intercourse 87 times a year (or 1.7 times a week).
# According to the World Health Organization, more than 114 million acts of sex are performed each day around the world.

Can you enjoy the party with the knowledge of impending doom (overpopulation and global warming)?

Global warming is not that bad to the planet, to humans it is, but not the planet. As George Carlin said the planet is fine.

It’s been here for some billions of years.

George doesn’t like “saving the planet” concept.

If you are angry or depressed about mans influence on the planet , remember in the game of life, the house always wins.

I was thinking about this fact the other day, and I wonder if our individual knowledge of our own impending death is a collective source of anger for mankind, anger that motivates a selfishness so strong that we can continue to stay on the train to hell (too much pollution for the planet to take).

The idea of “saving the planet can unite humanity in a common cause, maybe stop war.

George forgets about human war and our human Gluttony. No animal on the planet before has had the ability to split the atom, and read the DNA engineering sequences of life. We humans answer to no one, do we?

11 Extinct Animals That Have Been Photographed Alive <click here>

Land area that humans live on will change . We humans will then likely have wars over the new land/old land. Wars are hard on the environment, we kill and use up anything available for our war, if the war is going badly. Otherwise humans being smarter than multiplying bacteria should only use the planets resources that can be expected to grow back from the energy of sunlight.

Sex and eating. Mankind and bacteria.

The initial growth phase is called log growth, since the microbes metabolize at a rate which doubles their number (cell division) and mass over a given time. Log growth rates vary from strain to strain. At some point, the amount of food remaining begins to limit the growth rate. In this declining growth phase there are too many microorganisms and not enough food to sustain them.

Dr. David Suzuki

Suzuki talked about the earth being our biosphere and the biosphere cannot grow. Giving an example of a biosphere, he talked about a test tube full of food for bacteria. The bacteria can double every minute. One becomes two, two become four, four become eight and so forth. Within 60 minutes the tube is full of bacteria and there is no food left in it. But at minute 59 that tube is only half full of bacteria.
“We’re past the 59th minute,” he said of the world.”

Are humans as mindlessly dumb as bacteria fission growth? So shortsighted? Only if global warming is a problem directly affecting us, will we address it?

Additional: The examples of human causing extinctions prove we can be just as dumb as mindless bacteria.

toastsporkon reddit.com “Give a man a fish, and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he’ll overfish, cause famine in the next three regions and pollute the environment with fish remains.

Religion teaches us morals that raise us above mindless bacteria. Without the guidance of a religion, we will over consume the worlds resources in a feat of gluttony. The past evidence of human history teaches it is likely.

It is ironic George Carlin hated religion, yet religion is the only thing that might save the human race from its gluttony. Carlin was rooting for the asteroid out there to hit the earth and end the human race.

We behave like mindless bacteria with our addiction and consumption of oil-gasoline.

Our problem is the same as a bacterium . Over consumption, over population, overheating /global warming (too much carbon dioxide).

“Don’t poop where you eat”, is a saying, and our collective poop of billions is going to mess up where we live, and maybe our food source (farms) if the weather is too bad (or too extreme) to grow crops.

What other organized beings are on the planet? Bee’s and ants. They (different colonies) can live next to (bee’s to bee’s, ants to ants) each other with food resources of what nature (sunlight) provides. How common is war amongst the bees and ants?

Some people can’t conceive of the power humans have to kill and destroy as greater than their God. Humans are the best animal at killing due to our intelligence and tool making. Combined with organizations/colonies like bee’s and ants we become even more powerful. Pollution does not exist in nature as every animals/insects waste-pollution is used by another life form. Human waste-pollution does not go back into the food cycle . Pollution like radiation from nuclear fission and global atmospheric changes from pollution dumped into the FREE air.

Human excrement-garbage-pollution does not easily get back into natures cycle of life.

My View: Chromium 6 still threatens California’s drinking water
By Erin Brockovich
Published: Monday, Oct. 26, 2009
“Polluters who contaminate drinking water and make people sick shouldn’t get off easy. That has been the focus of my work for two decades, and I’m not planning to stop now. “

“I was saddened by the descriptions of liver and kidney degeneration, blood abnormalities including anemia, testicular damage, infertility, miscarriage, fetal toxicity, chromosomal abnormalities and a litany of cancers. The clinical descriptions in the Cal-EPA document weren’t abstract to me – they brought back the names and faces of people who I know who have lived and died with these illnesses.

Roberta Walker, the original client in the movie, was poisoned by Chromium 6. PG&E recently tested her new well at her new home and found levels of hexavalent chromium at 1.26 parts per billion, well over the proposed level of 0.06 ppb.

I congratulate the hard work of attorneys who fought on behalf of those poisoned and I applaud agencies and scientists for overseeing, setting and hopefully enforcing stricter standards. My fight for the people of Hinkley isn’t over. To bring this dark chapter of history to a close, California must adopt a legally enforceable and truly health-protective standard for hex chrome in drinking water.

I cannot protect every contaminated community, but if we have a uniform standard, I will rest easier knowing that people won’t be unknowingly drinking this dangerous substance. This chemical is a serious problem and I am glad it is being addressed. California has always led the way in setting standards that other states follow. We need to make prevention the goal of the future.” Erin Brockovich.

  1. Well, biologically seen, we’re not that much different from bacteria. just a few more cells. So, what would make us smarter than bacteria? :(

Great vid! :D And I think he’s bang on. Of course, “Save the planet” can unite humanity, which is a good thing. But can anyone save anything, if they cannot even save themselves? For many people being an activist is sort of an escape. Instead of taking responsibility for themselves, they try and take responsibility for everything else but themselves. I think, it’s these people, he’s talking about.

  2. Thanks.
    re:George Carlin on environmentel people.
I think Carlin is talking about the rich people who don’t want to see windmills in their backyard, or see pollution in THEIR area of land, while millions of people in other countries have no clean water or food.
Re:”save the wales save the snales”, we all have to have a reason to get up in the morning, its up to God to decide what you do is worthwile or not on ones judgement day(if there is one). As long as your career isn’t criminal, I got no problem with it.

but “(humanity)save themselves?” topic is true also. The religions that enjoy fighting each other due to their biological needs for a fight/war to conquer is disturbing.

  4. why should our planet matter at all?

I remember as a kid when I first heard about acid rain, deforestation of old growth and rain forests, toxic waste in the ocean I remember feeling so sad about it all the time.

I use to imagine having super powers so I could destroy those whaling ships and chemical plants, I wanted to save everything

as strange as that may seem that sadness for all people and earth was a cross i burdened myself with, it was always on my mind somehow. it was one of the leading causes of my depression before things started going downhill in my family.

years later I find out that our planet has had every continent and ocean a different shape and dimension once upon a time.

coelacanths ruled the deep dark seas before sharks or land animals even existed.

entire mountain ranges have come and gone

before our earth is destroyed by the sun another 4 billion years is going to go by

there is enough time for us to be wipe ourselves out and all trace of our existence to be wiped from the face of the earth

there is enough time for several dozen civilizations to come and go just like us. Maybe some make it to the stars, maybe some self terminate in a haze of nuclear fires.

This planet was once inhospitable to anything other than ultra tough super bacteria,

the idea of pollution, global warming, burning up fossil fuels, all that stuff now seems to me like the natural baby steps of a civilized race.

when people started drilling for oil or making hairspray no one was thinking about the Earth as a commons for a one people. there is a learning curve for a developing civilization that includes being burned by the fire, there is no way around it.

maybe 100 years from now nano machines will scrub the ocean of our plastics and giant processors work to make quality water and air

maybe 500 years from now we will have limitless clean energy for everyone and organic technology but it is right and proper that we screw the earth up while we learn. there is no other way

in the final analysis, short of utterly destroying the planet. sooner or later the earth will roll over all evidence we were ever here. it will recover. new resources will come up to the surfaces while old toxins sink into the molten core

there is no need to save the planet, the planet will be fine and has seen far worse days than anything we can do to it.

billions of species have come and gone and billions more will come and go, the earth has been warm and cold over and over.

polar bears will die out and lush foliage will creep north, it’s right and proper that it does. it will go back sooner or later.there will be some furry white apex predator that occupies the polar bear niche when the ice sheets start advancing back down again.

the earth does not care if we shoot ourselves in the foot and wipe ourselves out, we would not be first to go out

there was the Chixalub Impact in the Yucatan Peninsula which
    probably ended dinosaur rule

there will be another species to replace us sooner or later and if we have no legacy then that race will have to start the learning process just like we did,

they will drill for oil and blow stuff up and poison the atmosphere and make life better and worse for themselves

there really is nothing to worry about when it comes to the earth.

    re: nano machines
We already have nano machines. The creator made them. They are called bacteria and mold and such. Humans don’t control them is all.

    re:limitless clean energy
We already have limitless clean energy, it is called the sun. Suns side products of wind power. Alternately the hot mantle core of the earth is a second limitless supply. Iceland was supposed to harness it before the world financial market reduced their countries dollar value.

  7. “We answer to no one, do we?”
Actually we do. One day we have to answer about every deed we’ve done and even every empty word we’ve said.
Let’s go back to “Titanic”. Two thirds of all people on board were lost. Her tragedy is a prophetic picture of this temporal world(meaning system) we are living in. It symbolizes it’s futility and vanity.
    God sais:
    “Enter by the narrow gate,
for wide is the gate and broad is
the way that leads to destruction
and there are many who go in by it
    because narrow is the gate
and difficult is the way which
leads to life, and there are few
who find it. Matthew 7:13, 14

We are all on the same boat, but each and every one of us individually have to make a choice, not about our planet – it’s in God’s hands – but about our own standing with God – to make Jesus Christ our real Lord and Saviour because He is the only way to heaven with God.

This is heaven right now. Our pollution acting as selfish demons, not thinking of the other life forms here on earth (Gods creation). Pooping where we eat metaphorically, creates our own personal hell.
